Police have launched an urgent appeal after a serious crash on the A38 in south-east Cornwall.

A casualty suffered potentially life-changing injuries after the head-on collision near Tideford.

Now officers are trying to trace a dark 4x4 that may have seen what happened on Saturday evening.

They also want to hear from potential witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage from just before 7pm.

"At 1850 hours on Saturday 12th October 2019, all three emergency services attended a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A38, approximately one mile east of the village of Tideford.

"An orange coloured Fiat Punto and a silver Mercedes A class were involved in a head-on collision.

"The two occupants of both vehicles were taken by ambulance to Derriford Hospital.

"One of the occupants of the Mercedes has suffered potentially life-changing injuries.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene and are seeking to identify a dark coloured SUV or 4x4 vehicle at the scene of the collision.

"Police would like to hear from anyone who has witnessed the collision, or travelled on the A38 in either direction at the time of the collision who may have dashcam footage or witnessed either vehicle prior to the collision".
