Driver dies after crash on the A39 near Wadebridge

A man has died after a serious crash on the A39 in Cornwall.

An overturned car was found on the side of the road between Winnards Perch and Wadebridge on Monday morning.

All emergency services were called but, sadly, the driver could not be saved and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"One appliance from Wadebridge, the rescue tender from Bodmin and two flexi-duty officers responded to an RTC at the above location.

"Crews discovered a single vehicle RTC and used crash rescue equipment to release one casualty.

"Police and ambulance were also in attendance".

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service

Police are trying to work out what happened and are asking anyone who might have seen something to come forward.

"Emergency services were called around 9.05am today [14th October] after an overturned car was found by the side of the road between Winnards Perch and Wadebridge.

"The male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The A39 was closed in both directions but has now reopened.

"Police are investigating the cause of the collision and are asking for any witnesses to come forward".
