11-year-old left with 'life-changing' injuries after crash

A young girl has suffered potentially life-changing injuries after a serious crash in Redruth.

The 11-year-old pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car and was rushed to Treliske.

She is currently receiving specialist treatment and care.

The crash happened at around 1pm on Falmouth Road, near the junction with Treruffe Hill, and the stretch was closed while an examination was carried out.

Police are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage, or who saw what happened, to come forward.

"The incident happened on the B3300 Falmouth Road, near to the junction with Treruffe Hill, at around 1pm.  

"The ambulance service also attended the scene.

"The local girl received potentially life-changing injuries and was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske where she is receiving specialist treatment and care.

"Local police officers and specialists from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene, closed the road and launched a full forensic examination.

"Police have asked witnesses or anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward, unless they have already been in contact with officers at the scene".
