A stretch of the A30 in Cornwall is going to be closed overnight for two weeks.

Annual maintenance work is being carried out between Carland and Chiverton Cross, from 4th to 16th November.

A letter has gone out from Highways England to all locals in the area to make them aware.

"Please note that whilst we always aim to work to the programme, unforeseen circumstances may mean slight changes to it. We will keep you updated via advance roadside signs.

"We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may cause you. We will make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum."

What is happening?

Verges and drains will be cleared to prevent flooding, Highways England will carry out some small ares of re-surfacing, clean signs to ensure good visibility, trim vegetation and refresh road markings and road studs where needed.

Please note this year's closure has been extended by one week to accommodate additional resurfacing, anti-skid, linning and stud work from Zelah to Boxheater and around Carland roundabout.

Bosses have planned these works to take place within the annual closure 'in order to minimise disruption to residents and motorists'.
