Emergency services called to help woman on cliff top

Emergency services are called to help a woman on cliffs in St Agnes, amid concerns for her welfare.

Police, coastguard rescue teams and a lifeboat were all called to Trevellas Porth on Wednesday afternoon.

An officer was put into a harness so they could safely speak to the woman and a rope rescue was also set up.

After around an hour she was brought back to safety and spoken to by officials before being taken home.

"Police were called at 3.25pm yesterday following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman located on cliffs near Trevellas Porth, St Agnes.

"Emergency services attended and engaged with the woman. 

"She was brought safely off the cliff around 5pm.

"She was spoken to by police officers before being taken home.

"Coastguard also attended."

"We were called to assist police with a casualty on the cliff top at Trevellas. 

"Team put police in harnesses so they could safely engage with the casualty. 

"An immediate rope rescue setup was put in place as a contingency.

"After an hour the casualty was brought to safety by the police, supported by the team.

"H. M. Coastguard Portreath Rescue Team & St Agnes RNLI Lifeboat were also in attendance."
