Young biker rushed to hospital after crash near Truro

A young biker has been rushed to hospital after a crash on the outskirts of Truro.

A motorbike and car collided between Kenwyn and Shortlanesend on Thursday evening.

Paramedics and police were called to the scene on the B3284 and the road was closed for several hours.

The biker in his 20s was taken to Treliske with serious leg, hip and wrist injuries.

"Police and ambulance were called around 8pm yesterday following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car on the B3284 in Truro, outside Royal Farm.

"The male rider of the Yamaha motorcycle sustained serious leg, hip and wrist injuries. 

"The man, in his 20s and from the Truro area, was taken to Treliske Hospital where he remains.

"The road was closed but re-opened by 10.40pm."
