Cornish holiday park closes amid norovirus outbreak

A Cornish holiday park has temporarily closed after 90 guests became ill with norovirus.

Pirate FM told you how 30 children because suddenly sick at Mullion Holiday Park.

Bosses immediately contacted health officials to try and work out what the cause was.

It has been confirmed as the winter vomiting bug but an investigation is still underway.

The holiday park has been temporarily closed and bosses have apologised, but say the 'health and wellbeing of our guests paramount'. 

"We immediately contacted Public Health England and the local environmental health authority once we were made aware that some guests on the park were ill. 

"We worked closely with the authorities throughout the day and they visited the park yesterday and told us they are happy with the measures we have in place.
"We have taken the decision to temporarily close, as a precaution. 

"We are extremely sorry to everybody this will affect, however the health and wellbeing of our guests is paramount. 

"Wherever possible, we are providing alternative accommodation for our guests and owners."

Bosses have confirmed that all the public areas and accommodation will all be professionally cleaned, and also that the contagion is not food related.

Refunds are also being offered to guests.
