Night closures on main road from Truro to Falmouth

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 3:58pm 5th November 2019.

Parts of the A39 from Truro to Falmouth are being shut for the next three nights.

It is for routine maintenance, to prepare the stretch between Arch Hill and Treluswell for the winter.

The section from Treluswell to Perranwell was closed on Monday night and there is more to come.

The work that is being carried out includes stuff like emptying gullies and signing works.

Diversions will be in place using the A393, A30, A390 - scroll down to check the full diversion routes.

Which areas are affected and when?

"We will be working on various sections of the A39 from Arch Hill to Treluswell during planned overnight road closures from Monday 4th November 2019 to Thursday 7th November 2019.

"This is for routine maintenance operations being undertaken including emptying the gullies, flailing, signing works and general maintenance to ensure the roads will be kept clear and safe during the winter months.

"We will be doing the work overnight and in four stages to limit the disruption to local businesses and residents:

  • Monday 4th November: from 19:00 to 07:00 closed between Treluswell to Perranwell turning
  • Tuesday 5th November: from 22:00 to 07:00 closed between Perranwell turning (nr Norway inn) to Devoran Roundabout (CCTV works also in operation)
  • Wednesday 6th November: from 19:00 to 07:00 between Carnon Downs roundabout to Playing Place roundabout
  • Thursday 7th November: from 19:00 to 07:00 between Playing Place roundabouts to Arch Hill junction

"While the road is closed to traffic there will be a diversion route in place around the A393, A30, A390 and vice versa.

"Local traffic will be able to access the sections of the A39 that we are not working on during the closure period.

"Emergency access will also be maintained at all times".
