Early morning police raid at house in Cornwall

Published by Emma Carton at 2:36pm 7th November 2019.

Police have stormed a house in north Cornwall in an early morning raid.

Officers had reports of drugs, underage drinking and sexual exploitation in Launceston.

They executed a warrant amid concerns about activity involving a 'network of young people'.

Launceston Police said enquiries would continue until the youngsters could be safeguarded.

"This morning (Thursday 7th November), officers from Launceston Sector Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant under The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 at a residential address in Launceston.

"This was in reaction to intelligence received identifying a network of young people concerned in illicit drug use, underage drinking and sexual exploitation.

"Enquires will continue until those young people implicated can be safeguarded.

"If you have any information in relation to drug activity involving young people, please contact Devon and Cornwall Police via 101 or through the Devon and Cornwall Police and quote Operation Minivan".
