Road remains shut after landslide in Bodmin

A road remains closed - a week after torrential rain triggered a landslide in Bodmin.

A wall in front of a house on Castle Street collapsed, leaving rubble strewn across the road.

Cornwall Council has spent the week carrying out urgent checks to make sure the property is safe.

A statement on Wednesday confirmed teams are working with the owner, to make sure the building is made safe.

"The Cormac highways team attended the site and closed the road on Saturday. 

"Cornwall Council Building Services team are working with the property owner to make sure the property is made safe as soon as possible".

On the morning of Saturday the 9th of November, Inrix Traffic and Travel confirmed the road is still closed.

"Castle Street in both directions closed due to landslip between Cross Lane and Old Callywith Road.

"A local business confirms the road remains closed following a landslip that happened on the 2nd of November".
