£160,000 worth of drugs seized in Saltash

£160,000 worth of drugs has been seized during a police search in Saltash.

A vehicle stop was carried out on New Road on Friday morning.

Around £5,000 in cash was seized, along with what was believed to be amphetamines and cannabis inside the car.

A search was then carried out at a property where two rucksacks full of money and further suspected class A drugs were seized.

A 21-year-old local man was attested and released under investigation.

"Police carried out a vehicle stop in New Road, Saltash, at 11.40pm on Friday 8th November.

"A substantial amount of cash and suspected Class A drugs [Amphetamine] and suspected cannabis were found within the vehicle.

"A subsequent search was carried out at an address in Saltash where two rucksacks containing a significant amount of cash were located plus further suspected Class A drugs.

"A 21-year-old man from Saltash was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and possession of drugs with intent to supply. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
