Little girl reunited with lost teddy after Pirate FM appeal

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 2:05pm 12th November 2019.

A little girl from Cornwall has been reunited with her lost teddy after an appeal went viral on Pirate FM.

Sophia from Goonhavern lost Rabby the rabbit last week, and made a missing poster to help try and track him down.

People across the Duchy shared her appeal far and wide across social media.

There was then good news when Rabby was found hiding behind grandma's sofa.

Now Sophia and her big sister Sienna are helping other children in Cornwall, by donating to Pirate FM's Toy Appeal.

Rabby the rabbit

"At my grandma's house Rabby was there, she has five dogs and all of them wanted to play with Rabby and they decided they wanted to keep Rabby so they hid her behind the sofa.

"Thank you so much for all the help and kindness. We would like to donate a Rabby to Pirate FM's Toy Appeal to say thank you.

"It's a pink rabbit with flowery ears and it says 'meet Rabby take good care of me and take me on all your adventures, lots of love from Sophia.'"

What is the Pirate FM Toy Appeal?

We're trying to help raise a smile for some of Cornwall's most vulnerable and poorly children.

Last year locals, insanely and generously, donated thousands of toys for Pirate FM's Toy Appeal.

As it's now that time of year, and we're asking for donations again so we can help more children this year.

Buying just one extra gift while you are shopping, if you can, could make the world of difference to families hoping for a Merry Christmas this year.

If you'd like to help, we ask that all toys are brand new and to get your donations to a donation station by the 1st of December.

The toys will be going to Children's Hospice South West, who help children with life threatening and life-threatening illnesses and their families, Ellie's Haven who provide holidays for poorly children and Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity who give gifts to children in hospital over the festive season. Three very worthy causes.
