Two cars flip over after crashes in Cornwall

Two people are treated by paramedics after two cars crashed and flipped over in Cornwall.

One of the vehicles ended up in a field off the A3058 near Summercourt on Wednesday evening.

Firefighters have confirmed one casualty was trapped and had to be cut free.

"One appliance from Newquay, one appliance from St Austell, and the rescue tender from Bodmin responded to reports of a road traffic collision.

"On arrival, an incident involving a single vehicle was discovered. Firefighters used crash rescue equipment to release one person.

"Police and ambulance were also on scene".

A casualty also had to be cut free after another vehicle overturned at Tregrehan Mills near St Blazey.

Firefighters from three towns were scrambled on Wednesday night, along with police and paramedics.

"Fire crews from St Austell, Fowey and Bodmin Community Fire Stations and a wholetime officer were mobilised to a road traffic collision with persons trapped.

"On arrival the crews found a vehicle which had overturned with persons trapped.

"One person was rescued by fire service and the vehicle was made safe.

"The casualty was left in the care of the ambulance service and the incident handed over to the police".
