It is the time of year when Travelodge reveals some of the most bizarre requests at its hotels and guests in Cornwall did not disappoint!

"Can you arrange for the dolphins to put on a display" was among the odd wishes across its seven sites in the Duchy this year.

Others included questions about where to see the Beast of Bodmin, a sand proposal and asking to turn a room into a beach!

What were the Top 10 strange requests to Travelodge in Cornwall?

  1. Can you arrange for the dolphins to put a display on this afternoon at 3pm?
  2. Will we see Adam and Eve at the Eden gardens?
  3. Where can we go to get a glimpse of the Beast of Bodmin?
  4. Can you dress up as Santa Claus?
  5. Can you turn my room into a beach?
  6. Can you write "Will You Marry Me" on the sand and arrange for dolphins in the background - I want to propose to my girlfriend
  7. Can you make the sun stay out for longer?
  8. Can you take my bed down to the beach?
  9. How many stars go into a Stargazy pie?
  10. Can I have a water taxi to Jersey?

And it is not just in Cornwall!

The hotel chain receives dozens bizarre requests from its hotels around the UK, including a rise in wedding proposals!

"Annually we welcome around 19 million customers at our 570 hotels which include seven properties in Cornwall.

"Our hotel teams receive thousands of interesting requests from business and leisure guests.

"Where possible, our hotel teams will go above and beyond to help customers as they relish a good challenge.

"However there are some requests beyond their control such as getting a raft of ducks to go to sleep, stopping the traffic on the M5, getting the Northern Lights to make an appearance and getting a herd of sheep as a sleep aid.

"Interestingly, over the last 12 months, our hotel teams have reported a rise in customer requests to help with wedding proposals.

"Requests have included a customer asking for a unicorn pedal boat and for a rainbow to appear above the hotel at 16:16 for a wedding proposal at Thurrock Travelodge.

"The team at Rhyl Travelodge were asked to set up a romantic candlelit dinner on Rhyl beach with a path of red rose petals from the hotel to the table.

"At Leamington Spa Travelodge the hotel team were tasked to get a full moon outside the customer's room window in order to create a moonlight setting".
