Elderly woman knocked down and injured in Plymouth

Police have launched an appeal after an elderly woman was knocked down and injured in the centre of Plymouth.

Officers say it happened as a man ran from security guards on Royal Parade last month.

The victim, who is in her 80s, ended up in hospital with a fractured shoulder and cut to her head.

Anyone who saw something on the morning of Thursday the 26th of September is being urged to come forward.

"Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was knocked over and injured by a man fleeing from security guards in Plymouth city centre.

"Officers are investigating an assault which happened in Royal Parade at around 11.30am on Thursday 26 September.

"The victim, aged in her 80s, suffered a fractured shoulder and cut to her head. She required hospital treatment.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call police on 101, or email 101@dc.police.uk, quoting crime reference number: CR/100734/19.

"Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111, or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org".
