A car has ended up on its roof after a crash on the A38 in south-east Cornwall.

Police and paramedics were scrambled to Liskeard, near the Looe turn-off.

It happened just after 10.30am on Thursday and part of the road is blocked.

Highways England has issued a warning about mud and debris on the road.

Drivers are being urged to take extra care, especially as more heavy rain hits.

Kernow Weather Team says there is a lot of standing water and flooding in the Glynn Valley.

The group has already issued an alert for downpours throughout the day on Thursday: Read more.

Following the crash, a driver had to be checked over at the scene but, luckily, has escaped unhurt.

"We were called by the ambulance service at around 10.10am with reports of a single-vehicle RTC on the A38 at Menheniot, Liskeard, where a car had ended up on its roof.

"The driver of the vehicle has been checked over by paramedics and is uninjured".
