Serious injuries after 'wet weather crash' on A390

A man is seriously injured after a 'wet weather crash' on Cornwall's A390.

Police say the casualty was trapped after three vehicles collided near the roundabout at Probus.

A van, a car and a pick-up truck were all involved just after 9am on Wednesday morning.

One passenger has been airlifted to hospital by the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

They suffered injuries to their leg and pelvis and the road was left closed for hours.

"Police and ambulance were called just after 9am today (27th November) following a multi-vehicle collision on the A390, close to Trewithen roundabout, Truro

"One man was trapped in a vehicle and has sustained serious injuries.

"The road is closed in both directions.

"The air ambulance has been called".

Devon and Cornwall Police

They later added: "It was three vehicles – a van, car and a pick-up truck.

"One man, the passenger in the van, was airlifted to hospital with leg and pelvic injuries. Not described as life-changing or threatening.

"Road remains closed at this time with traffic being directed through Probus.

"Recovery is on scene now."

Inrix Traffic and Travel was reporting 'severe' levels of surface water in both directions first thing on Wednesday.

The stretch between the junction for the A3078 and the Trewithen roundabout has now reopened.
