A 10-year-old girl has been caught in a collision with a car during the morning rush in Cornwall.

Police say it happened just before 9am on School Hill in Perranarworthal, between Truro and Penryn.

The child suffered a foot injury, which is not believed to be serious, but has been taken to hospital by an ambulance.

"This was a collision between a child and a car on School Hill, Perranarworthal. 

"Reported to police at 8.50am today. 

"A girl, aged 10, sustained a foot injury and was taken to hospital by ambulance. Her injuries are not believed to be serious. 

"The road is now clear."
