The 46-year-old passenger was trapped after three vehicles hit on the Probus bypass.

It happened on Wednesday morning, closing the A390 for several hours.

Police want to trace the driver of a white car seen next to the lay-by at the time.

They believe the person may have seen what happened.

Anyone with dashcam footage from the incident, just after 9am, is also being urged to come forward.

"At approximately 09.03hrs on Wednesday 27th November 2019, police were informed of a multi vehicle road traffic collision on the A390 between Trewithen Roundabout and the junction with Tregony Road, near Probus, involving an Iveco Daily panel van, a Nissan Duke and a Ford Ranger.

"Specialist officers from the Police Alliance Roads Policing Team attended, along with a Forensic Colllision Investigator and Scene of Crime Officer.

"A full investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to establish the cause of this collision.

"Police are appealing for the driver of a small white or cream coloured vehicle that was next to the layby at the time of the collision to telephone 101, quoting Log 187 of 27/11/19.

"Police are particularly keen to speak to any drivers who may have witnessed or captured this incident on dash cam".
