Boris reveals how he likes his cream tea

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 12:50pm 28th November 2019.

Boris Johnson has revealed how he likes his cream tea... and luckily he got it right.

The Prime Minister visited Cornwall on Wednesday during his election campaign trail.

The Tory party leader stopped off at the West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance, Goonhilly earth station on the Lizard and also Healey's cyder farm near Truro.

When he stopped off for an afternoon tea, including Cornish clotted cream of course, he was then put to the test.

Fortunately he went for jam first on his scone - but admitted it was actually down to a lucky guess.

You can watch him tucking in below...

"The reason you put jam on first is that jam is adhesive. I'm doing it the Cornish way.

"I did it the right way. The truth is my mind went a total blank when as I was trying to explain which way round it is, I literally couldn't remember. So I guessed. It was gut instinct."

During his tour the prime minister also pulled pints of Cornish cyder and tried the famous Rattler.
