Woman falls from moving vehicle in Plymouth

Police are investigating reports of assault and dangerous driving after a woman fell from a moving vehicle in Plymouth.

They say a casualty in her 40s suffered serious injuries after it was seen to mount the kerb on Eggbuckland Road.

Officers want to hear from anyone who spotted a black pick-up truck in the area the Wednesday evening before last.

They are also appealing for dashcam footage after the incident happened between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

"Police are investigating reports of assault and dangerous driving after a woman was seriously injured falling from a moving vehicle in Plymouth.

"An appeal has been issued for witnesses and dashcam footage following an incident at the junction of Eggbuckland Road and Frogmore Avenue on Wednesday 20th November.

"Officers were called at around 6pm with reports from members of the public that a female was seen falling from a motor vehicle which had allegedly been driving erratically.

"The vehicle came from the direction of Novorossisk Road, eventually driving down Church Hill and on to Eggbuckland Road.

"It then mounted the kerb at the junction of Frogmore Avenue and went over the grass verge towards the Co-Op store.

"The female, aged in her 40s, was seen to fall out of the vehicle from the passenger side. She suffered injuries, including a suspected broken hip, and required hospital treatment.

"Police would like to hear from anyone who saw a black Mitsubishi L200 Warrior pick-up truck in the area of Novorossiysk, Forder Valley, Church Hill, Eggbuckland Road and Frogmore Avenue between 5.30pm and 6.30pm".

Witnesses, or any motorists with dashcam footage, are urged to call police on 101, or email 101@dc.police.uk, quoting crime reference number CR/104899/19.

A 50-year-old local man, arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous driving, has been released on police bail until 19th December.
