Person airlifted after serious crash on A30 in Cornwall

A crash that closed a stretch of the A30 in both directions has been described as serious.

The air ambulance was called to the Roseworthy Dip near Hayle on Saturday morning.

Two vehicles were involved and police described the collision as ‘potentially serious’.

Firefighters were also called to the scene at around 11am.

Pirate FM understands a casualty was trapped and airlifted to Derriford.

"Police were called at 10.59am to a collision involving two vehicles on the eastbound carriageway.

"The road is currently closed and the air ambulance is in attendance.

"It is potentially serious and various emergency services are on the scene”.

Diversions were put in place, affecting anyone travelling between Camborne and Hayle.

However, Inrix Traffic and Travel and Highways England have confirmed the road has now reopened.

"Accident cleared on the A30 Westbound from the B3301 Carwin Rise (Loggans Moor roundabout, Loggans) to the A3047 (Camborne West, Camborne).

“Recovery and clean up work have now been completed and the road has been re-opened in both directions. 

“Affecting traffic travelling between Hayle and Camborne”.
