Appeal to find roadside tributes to crash victim

Appeal to find roadside tributes to crash victim

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 5:11pm 2nd December 2019. (Updated at 6:39am 3rd December 2019)

A young woman from Falmouth has put out a heartfelt appeal after the roadside tributes to her late partner disappeared.

Ross Chambers died after a car and lorry collided on the A393 in Lanner in September 2018.

The 32-year-old from Falmouth was airlifted to Treliske with life-threatening injuries. He was later transferred to Derriford but sadly passed away two days later.

Ever since, Ross' partner Sara Prynn, his ten-year-old son and his family have been going to visit where it happened to lay flowers and messages.

But around a week ago Sara noticed that all the tributes had been removed.

She contacted Cormac and Cornwall Council who both said they had not removed them, and that they do not touch memorials.

Now she is desperately asking for the tributes to be returned - saying 'it’s just the worst thing that could happen'.

"Ever since, me, his little boy and his family have been going out to where it happened on either his birthday or the date of the crash for the past year and a half.

"A week ago I found out that all Ross’s memorial stuff got removed, me and his family got very upset as we didn’t think people would do anything like this.

"I then emailed Cormac to ask if it was them and Cornwall Council and they replied back saying they don’t touch memorials so we reckon someone has taken it.

"Ross has a ten-year-old boy who put a flower pot out there for his dad and that has been taken too. It’s just the worst thing that could happen".

Pirate FM understands that tributes to another crash victim in the same area have also been taken.

At the time of the crash, Ross' family paid the following tribute:

"On Sunday afternoon the 30th of September 2018 our son passed away, a couple of days after he was involved in a tragic car accident.

"He was a beautiful, caring and loving soul, we miss him so badly!

"With him went a part of our heart, we love you so much Ross the pain of losing you is unbearable.

"Love forevermore mum, dad, brother, sister, son, partner, all your family and many friends... X"
