18-year-old man seriously injured after A30 crash

Police have confirmed an 18-year-old suffered serious injuries after a crash on Cornwall's A30.

The young man had to be airlifted to hospital after two vehicles hit at the Roseworthy Dip.

The collision closed a stretch between Camborne and Hayle for around six hours.

Officers are urging anyone who saw something at around 11am on Saturday to come forward.

"Police were called at around 11am on Saturday 30 November to the A30 at Roseworthy, following reports of a two vehicle collision.

"Emergency services attended the scene where a collision involving a black Land Rover Defender and a silver Ford Fiesta had taken place.

"The driver of the Fiesta, an 18-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance.

"The road was closed whilst emergency services attended and was reopened shortly before 5pm.

"Investigation officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage of the incident.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 341 30/11/19".
