Woman injured after 'assault' near Truro

A woman has suffered injuries to her face and neck after reports of an assault near Truro.

Police say the 32-year-old from Helston was hurt near Idless Woods last Thursday afternoon.

Officers were trying to trace a jogger who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened just off the B3284.

They have now confirmed that a witness has come forward and have thanked the public for their help.

A 30-year-old man from Truro has been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed.

"Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of an assault in Truro.

"A 32-year-old woman from Helston sustained minor injuries to her face and neck in the incident which occurred near Idless Woods off the B3284 near Truro, between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on Thursday 5th December.

"Police are particularly interested in hearing from a male jogger who may have witnessed the assault.

"The jogger is thought to be of medium build and in his late 40s, possibly with fair hair, and wearing a blue top and blue shorts.

"A 30-year-old man from Truro has been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed until 3rd January."
