Police appeal after fire at Penzance primary school

Police confirm they are investigating a fire at a primary school in west Cornwall.

A toy shed was destroyed at Pensans Community Primary on Friday evening.

Officers say no one was injured in the blaze in the Heamoor area.

Anyone who saw what happened is being asked to get in touch.

"Police are aware of reports of a fire at a shed on the premises of Pensans Community Primary School in Penzance.

"The incident was reported to have taken place on Friday 6th December between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.

"No one was injured and the content of the shed, were believed to be toys."

Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CR/109748/19.

Fire crews have also confirmed that teams from Penzance and St Just were called to the scene.

"A small shed on fire, at the rear of the school that contained some toys.

"Police informed and one crew from Penzance and one from St Just were mobilised. 2 BA and a hose reel used."
