Is another winter storm sweeping towards Cornwall?

Is Wednesday the calm before another winter storm hits Cornwall?

Kernow Weather Team is predicting more gales and downpours for Thursday and Friday.

The group fears a system sweeping in from the Atlantic could spark gusts of up to 70mph.

The Met Office has not issued any official alerts as yet, but says the end of the week will remain very unsettled.

What is the warning from Kernow Weather Team?

"KWT are issuing a weather warning for Thursday and Friday for strong winds and heavy rain.

"A strong jet stream and a series of low pressure systems are, yet again, moving in from the Atlantic and will ensure it will be windy for the rest of the week.

"Gales or severe gales at times together with spells of heavy rain or showers.

"The next area of low pressure will slide in off the Atlantic bringing with it some very strong gusts of wind of around 30-50mph inland and 50-70mph around the coast and exposed areas.

"This will also be accompanied with lively showers which could turn prolonged at times, gales to severe gales are possible.

"We are monitoring this next weather system and will keep you updated on any further developments".
