Driver injured as two lorries crash near Redruth

A double lorry crash near Redruth left one person trapped.

It is understood a driver was taken to hospital after two vehicles hit at United Downs.

The casualty is believed to have suffered a broken leg and ankle.

Firefighters and paramedics were scrambled just after 2pm on Wednesday, along with police.

Officers have since confirmed the driver's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"One fire appliance and the rescue tender from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station attended a road traffic collision with a person trapped. 

"Firefighters used crash rescue equipment to release the casualty by 1425hrs. 

"Ambulance and police were also in attendance".
