Driver and child rushed to hospital after crash

A man and a child have been rushed to hospital after a serious crash near St Austell.

Police say three cars collided in St Blazey on Thursday evening.

One driver, a 44-year-old local man, has been rushed to Treliske with potentially life-threatening injuries.

A two-year-old child was also taken to hospital but was not seriously injured.

Anyone who saw what happened just before 6.20pm on St Austell Road is asked to contact officers.

"Police were called at around 6.15pm on Thursday 12th December following reports of a three-vehicle collision on St Austell Road, St Blazey.

"It was reported that a silver Vauxhall Corsa has collided with a green BWM and a grey Peugeot.

"The driver of the Corsa, a 44-year-old local man, sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken to Treliske hospital. 

"A two-year-old child, also in the car, was also taken to hospital but suffered no significant injuries.

"The driver of the BMW, a local man in his 50s, was uninjured. The Peugeot was parked and unattended at the time of the incident.

"Local Officers attended the scene."

Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the incident are asked to contact the police via 101 quoting the log number 705 of 12/12/2019.
