Man seriously injured after 'cattle incident' in Cornwall

Police confirm a man was rushed to hospital after an incident involving cattle in Cornwall.

The casualty in his 60s suffered a serious leg injury near St Agnes.

Officers do not believe it to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Emergency services were intitally called to reports of a serious crash on a country road.

However they have since confirmed that the incident involved livestock.

Devon and Cornwall Police, paramedics and the air ambulance were all scrambled on Thursday afternoon.

"Police were called at around 3pm on Thursday 12 December to farmland in St Agnes, following reports that a man had been injured by cattle.

"The cattle were secured in a nearby field whilst emergency services, including the air ambulance attended.

"A man in his 60s sustained a serious leg injury - not being treated as life-threatening or changing. 

"A vehicle was also damaged.

"Police have notified the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)".
