Police appeal after man ‘stabbed’ in Newquay

Police say a man has been stabbed and left injured in Newquay.

The casualty received first aid in the street on Atlantic Road, after it happened inside a property.

He was rushed to Treliske hospital where he is still being treated.

One person was arrested and, as of Saturday night, remained in custody.

This is the second alleged stabbing in the same area in the space of a few weeks.

However, Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this latest incident.

Anyone who saw something on Saturday afternoon is being urged to come forward.

“During the afternoon of Saturday 14th December 2019, a man was stabbed inside an address in Newquay.

“He received first aid treatment in the street on Atlantic Road and is now currently in hospital where he is continuing to receive treatment.

“One person has been arrested and is in police custody.

“Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

“Police are appealing for any witnesses and persons with information to call 101 quoting log number 599 141219”.
