Police name victim of fatal crash near St Austell

A man who died in a crash near St Austell has been named by police.

31-year-old chef Michael Plows lost his life after his car hit a row of trees on the A3082 in Par.

It happened during the early hours of Saturday 7th December and, tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michael's family have described him as 'a loving son, brother and uncle', who will be 'missed by all'.

Investigators are urging anyone who saw something in the early hours of the Saturday before last to come forward.

"Police have named a man who died following a collision in Par earlier this month.

"Emergency services were called around 3.30am on Saturday 7th December after a silver Vauxhall Astra left the A3082 Par Moor Road and collided with trees.

"The driver, 31-year-old Michael Plows, sustained fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Michael has been described as ‘a loving son, brother and uncle, who will be missed by all his family and friends’. Michael was an established Head Chef at a local pub.

"The road was closed for 11 hours while a specialist examination of the scene was carried out and the vehicle was recovered.

"Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for witnesses".
