Metal thefts across Cornwall spark police warning

A warning has gone out about metal thefts in the Callington, Gunnislake and Launceston areas.

Police have issued an alert after a motorbike was stolen.

It is believed that people searching for scrap metal were in the Gunnislake area at the time.

Locals are being urged to secure their property and report anything suspicious to officers.

"Police are asking for people to be vigilant following the theft if a motorcycle in Gunnislake. 

"It is believed that people searching for scrap metal were in the area at the time.  

"If you see anything suspicious, please get as much detail as you can (vehicle registration, description of vehicle and persons) and report to police.

"Try to secure your property and report any loss as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting crime reference number CR/097379/19.
