A mum whose daughter ended up in hospital just days before Christmas thanks Cornwall for its incredible generosity.

Little Olivia from Shortlanesend was rushed to Treliske with a chest infection at the end of last week.

Her family had already donated to Pirate FM's Toy Appeal, which received around 8,000 toys.

Now she has been given one of the gifts, being handed out to poorly youngsters on the wards.

'We never expected to be here ourselves'

Toy Appeal Donations at Treliske
The mum of a little girl who ended up in hospital just days before Christmas has thanked Cornwall for its amazing generosity to Pirate FM's Toy Appeal

"We came in last night (Thursday) because she's got a chest infection.

"She's not been feeling very well all week and then it just got worse.

"As a local blogger, we get sent a lot of toys throughout the year. Obviously a lot of toys are too hold for my girls so we like to hand them back.

"I think it's fantastic, I mean we didn't expect to be here. Hopefully we can get out before Christmas, I'm hoping. It's an amazing thing collecting to hand toys out to all the children".
