A big fire has destroyed a building used by a Cornish group that supports families in crisis.

Flames tore through the former Roselyon school in Par the day after Boxing Day.

St Blazey Recycle Reuse Resale Community Interest Company uses it for storage and lost a load of furniture.

It has described the blaze as "mindless vandalism" and police are treating it as possible arson.

"So many of you will know St Blazey had a fire last night. It was the gym at the old Roselyon School site.

"This was our furniture store (the one that the boys ransacked in the Summer).

"Needless to say we're a bit upset - white goods, beds allsorts ready for moving to the shop have gone up in flames".

The statement continued: "We don't want this sort of mindless vandalism in our town.

"Please no sightseeing - this structure is now unsafe!"
