'Multi-vehicle crash' closes stretch of Cornwall's A30

A 'multi-vehicle crash' has brought part of Cornwall's A30 to a standstill.

One lane was closed near Redruth following reports of a 'serious accident' between Scorrier and Chiverton Cross.

Police have now confirmed that two vehicles were involved but luckily no one is thought to be hurt.

"We were called at around 12.55pm with reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A30 at Scorrier, Redruth. 

"No injuries have been reported at this time.

"One lane is closed and traffic is currently being diverted off at Avers due to the build-up."

Devon and Cornwall Police

Diversions were put in place at the Avers junction.

Officials have now confirmed that the road has reopened.

"Lane closed and queueing traffic due to multi-vehicle accident on A30 Eastbound from A30 (Avers Roundabout, Redruth) to A3047 (Scorrier, Scorrier).

"Lane one (of two) is closed."
