Drivers in Cornwall are being urged to take care as a warning goes out for mist.

The Kernow Weather Team has issued an alert on Thursday afternoon.

The forecasting experts are reminding people to drive with lights on and there could be reduced visability.

There is no official warning out from the Met Office but the weather is also turning wet and windy.

"We are issuing a mist warning as some parts of Cornwall are seeing it start to move in.

"Please take care if out on the roads. Remember your lights and drive to the road conditions."

What is the difference between mist and fog?

Mist is defined as 'when there is such obscurity and the associated visibility is equal to or exceeds 1000 m.' Like fog, mist is still the result of the suspension of water droplets, but simply at a lower density.

Mist typically is quicker to dissipate and can rapidly disappear with even slight winds, it's also what you see when you can see your breath on a cold day.
