Police, paramedics and firefighters were scrambled just before 8pm on Saturday.

Listeners told Pirate FM it looked serious and there were a lot of blue lights in the area.

Highways England confirmed police had shut the eastbound carriageway and diversions were in place.

The main carriageway reopened at around 10pm but the slip road remained closed until 11pm.
