One person has been taken to hospital after a serious crash on the A30 in west Cornwall.

One reportedly overturned, trapping one casualty who had to be cut free.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were scrambled just before 8pm on Saturday.

The incident closed the eastbound carriageway and the slip road for several hours.

"One appliance and the rescue tender from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station are at a multiple-vehicle road traffic collision involving one person trapped.

"A group manager is also in attendance to support crews.

"All three emergency services are currently on scene and fire crews are using stabilisation tools and crash rescue equipment (CRE) to release the trapped casualty".

"UPDATE: 20:41 "One casualty has been released from the vehicle, and is being conveyed to hospital along with two other casualties. Crews are now making up equipment".
