A car has plunged 20ft from the top of a steep terrace in St Ives.

The vehicle landed upside down on top of another vehicle, parked in what is believed to be a private car park below.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were scrambled to Tregenna Terrace on Saturday night after a string of 999 calls.

Remarkably, St Ives Community Fire Station has since confirmed that no-one was seriously hurt!

"At 22:42 Critical Control received a 999 call multiple request for police, fire and ambulance after a road traffic collision.

"The caller reported that a vehicle had left the road and fallen down a step drop into a compound and onto another car.

"One appliance from St Ives, one appliance from Hayle and the rescue tender from Tolvaddon were mobilised, along with a flexi-duty station manager.

"Critical Control also made immediate contact with police and ambulance control rooms.

"On arrival fire crews were the first emergency service on scene and were urgently conducting a scene survey to ascertain whether any casualties were trapped in the vehicles, one of which had fallen approximately 20ft onto a parked car.

"One casualty was found to be out of the vehicle and received emergency care by firefighters until the arrival of ambulance service.

"Crews made the vehicles safe using stabilisation equipment and the incident was handed over to the police".
