Woman found dead in village park near St Austell

A woman has been found dead in a park at a village near St Austell.

A passerby made the tragic discovery at Hallaze Road in Penwithick.

Cordons were put in place from around 8am on Sunday morning.

Police have confirmed the casualty was in her mid-30s and her family has been told.

"Police were called to reports of a body at Penwithick on Sunday 5th January.

"The casualty was a female in her mid-30s.

"The family were made aware.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
