Four people treated for smoke inhalation in Redruth

Four people have been treated for smoke inhalation after a kitchen fire broke out in Redruth.

Firefighters from Tolvaddon got the shout to Chapel Street at 4am on Thursday morning.

Alarms had been sounding at a property and four casualties were inside.

The small blaze was already out on arrival and crews ventilated the property.

Police and paramedics were also called to the scene.

"At 4am critical control received a call to alarms sounding at a residential property.

"A fire crew from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station were mobilised and on arrival found four casualties suffering smoke inhalation following a small fire in a kitchen which was out.

"Crews confirmed no further fire appliances or an officer were required.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus ventilated the property.

"Police and ambulance were also in attendance."
