Friends honour the Truro teen who died in a crash

A Crowdfunder has launched in memory of a Truro teenager who died in a crash over the Christmas holidays.

Caitlin Swan was out cycling when her bike was caught in a collision with a van near Stithians.

Friends say the 14-year-old, who was a pupil at Penair School, had a real "zest for life".

So far, more than £3,000 has been raised to support charities that represent her passions.

"Tragically Caitlin passed away on December 28th 2019 whilst out on a bike ride.

"Caitlin was a bright light, she was a young lady who had a real zest for life and was so full of energy. Caitlin had a wonderful smile and was also incredibly kind to others.

"Caitlin was a keen scuba diver, hockey player and cyclist. She was always passionate about taking care of our environment.

"Caitlin was also growing her hair with the view to donating it to the Little Princess Trust charity so that it could assist others.

"The nominated charities have been chosen by her twin sister Lamorna and a close friend.

"These charities represent Caitlin's passions in life and as a family we would like to support this.

"Any donations would be appreciated to keep our shining star bright in helping others.

"She will be missed by all that knew and loved her".
