Man's body found in car in Callington

A man's body has been found in a car in south east Cornwall.

Police say the discovery was made in Callington on Friday morning.

Officers and paramedics were called to New Road at around 9am.

Sadly the man, who was in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and the man's family has been told.

"Police were notified of a concern of welfare of a man in a stationary vehicle on New Road in Callington at 9am on Friday, 10th January.

"Both ambulance and police attended the scene where a man in his 70s was pronounced deceased. His next of kin have been informed.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner."
