Car crashes into garage of house in Wadebridge

Two elderly people have been rescued after a car crashed into a garage in Wadebridge.

Firefighters, police and paramedics all got the call on Friday lunchtime.

The vehicle had gone into the property but it is understood that there were no serious injuries.

The casualties were rescued through the boot of the car and were checked over by the ambulance service.

"This afternoon, firefighters from Wadebridge and Bodmin Community Fire Station were alerted to a single vehicle road traffic collision in Wadebridge.

"On arrival it became apparent that the vehicle had collided with a residential property and two people were trapped inside.

"The crew stabilised the garage before rescuing both casualties through the boot of the vehicle.

"They were both checked over by South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and remarkably were relatively uninjured.

"Devon and Cornwall Police were also in attendance".

"At 1.14pm today critical control received a call to a car that had crashed into a garage. 

"Crews from Wadebridge and Bodmin were mobilised to the incident. 

"On arrival crews found two elderly persons in the car and they were removed from the vehicle into the care of the ambulance service".
