The whole of the south Cornwall coast is on flood watch in the wake of ex-Storm Brendan.

The Environment Agency has issued alerts from Land's End to the Rame Peninsula and Plymouth.

It comes ahead of that second severe weather warning for gales of up to 70mph, with heavy rain on the cards too.

The St Mawes passenger ferry has already cancelled all sailings for Tuesday, because of the wild weather.

What flood alerts are in force?

The Environment Agency has issued the following flood alerts for the south Cornwall coast:

Land's End to Lizard Point: Locations that could be at risk include Mousehole, Newlyn, Penzance, Longrock, Marazion, and Praa Sands.

Lizard Point to Gribbin Head: Locations particularly at risk include Commercial Road Penryn, Trefusis Road Flushing, the A39 at Perranarworthal and the A390 at Tresillian.

Gribbin Head to Rame Head: Locations that could be at risk include Fowey, Golant, Lostwithiel, Lerryn, Polruan, Polperro, Looe and the Looe Rivers and Seaton.

Rame Head to Plymouth: Locations that could be at risk include Kingsand, Cawsand, Cremyll, Torpoint, Saltash, tidal rivers Tamar and Plym, excluding Plymouth Barbican.

The Environment Agency says strong winds, coupled with super high tides, could cause waves to spill over the tops of quays and harbour walls.

"Flooding is possible over all high tides from Monday evening through to, and including Tuesday evening's high tide.

"High water at Newlyn on Monday 13th of January is at 18:39 and Tuesday 14th of January at 07:02 and 19:27; times of high water will vary along the coast.

"The weather forecast over the next few days is for stormy conditions during a time of spring tides.

"Expect wave overtopping of sea defences and sea spray in exposed coastal locations. Please be extra vigilant during Tuesday evening’s high tide.

"The forecast is for strong, force 7, south westerly winds and offshore wave heights of around 7m. Expect tides to be around 400mm higher than predicted due to weather conditions.

"People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast".
