More wind and rain for Cornwall just 48 hours after Storm Brendan

Cornwall is being warned that more wet and windy weather is to come, just 48 hours after Storm Brendan.

The Kernow Weather Team has issued an advisory for strong wind and rain on Thursday.

The local forecasting team says gusts could reach up to 60mph in exposed areas.

It comes after Storm Brendan sparked two days of weather warnings for wind at the start of the week.

"More gusts and downpours this week but weekend high pressure means a change is in sight.

"The warm front from Low 3 will bring more heavy and persistent rain and strong winds on Thursday, current weather models are showing 30-50mph inland and 40-60mph in exposed areas, there is a risk of some roads around Cornwall seeing more flooding, please stay vigilant tomorrow.

"There is some good news looking ahead, as the high pressure ridge comes into play, we start to see less of the rain.

"Friday there will be a few isolated showers around with some lovely sunny spells but the temperature will feel a lot cooler than we have had. By the weekend the temperature will drop down, day time temperatures of around 4c to 8c with more gorgeous winter sunshine, light winds but over night there is a risk of frost on higher grounds."

There are also predictions that the temperature could drop next week, with lows dipping into minus numbers, brr.

Forecasters say there could be some frosty overnight conditions.

"Looking into next week (this could change).

"Monday morning could see temperatures down to -2 to 3c but the good news is that at the moment, the charts are not showing any of that wet stuff.

"Monday night once again, there a possibility of frost as the temperatures take a tumble, between - 4 to 4c.

"More on next week's weather coming soon."
