Ice warning after string of crashes on Cornwall's roads

An ice warning is going out to drivers, after a spate of crashes on Cornwall's roads.

A multi-vehicle collision blocked the A30 near Jamaica Inn on Saturday morning.

Traffic was queuing in both directions, however the incident has since cleared.

It comes ahead of that cold weather alert for Sunday and Monday, as temperatures plummet.

"Road cleared and traffic easing. Multi-vehicle accident cleared on A30 Westbound at Codda (Bolventor/Jamaica Inn).

"The accident has cleared".

A separate incident and ice was reported on the stretch at Okehampton, where a car hit the central reservation.

Also over the border in Devon, slippery conditions have closed the A3072 between Jacobstowe and North Tawton.

Elsewhere in the Duchy, a lorry has overturned at Hallworthy, closing the road through Warbstow.

"The road through Warbstow in both directions closed due to overturned lorry and ice between A395 (Hallworthy) and Warbstow (Warbstow).

"Initially reported to be on the A395 but police have confirmed it is on the road through Warbstow".
