Teenager airlifted after crash near Cornish college

A teenager has been airlifted to hospital after a collision in Bodmin.

Police say the girl suffered serious leg injuries after the incident near the college.

Emergency services were scrambled to the roundabout between College Lane and Lostwithiel Road.

The incident happened just after 8.30am on Tuesday morning and the road was partially blocked.

"Police were called by the ambulance service at around 8.35am with reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Bodmin. 

"It was said to have taken place at the roundabout between College Lane and Lostwithiel Road. 

"A teenage female has been taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious leg injuries.

Inrix Traffic and Travel was reporting very slow traffic in the area around Lostwithiel Road, but it has since cleared.

"Road cleared and traffic easing, accident cleared on B3268 Lostwithiel Road near Bodmin College".
