Police have posted a message of reassurance amid reports of attempts to steal dogs in Camborne.

Pirate FM told you about claims of men acting suspiciously and asking questions about pets.

Officers say the people knocking on doors have been to see them.

We are being told they are offering gardening services, are only looking for work and do not want anyone's dogs.

"We have had reports from residents in the Camborne, Pool and Redruth areas of suspicious people knocking on doors and allegedly asking for information about dogs.

"Police have not received any reports of thefts of dogs in this area.

"The people who were knocking on doors have visited Camborne Police Station today (Thursday).

"They have reassured us they are offering gardening services only, are looking for work, and do not want anyone's dogs".
